Treatments for Asthma?

There are many many different drugs for the treatment of asthma, but there are only a handful in common use, all of which fall into one of two categories. The first type of asthma drug is a reliever drug which is there to relieve the symptoms of asthma when they occur and should therefore be taken only occasionally when symptoms are evident. The second type of asthma drug is a preventer, which is there to prevent the symptoms of asthma and should be taken regularly, and the direction of a medical expert.

One of the most commonly prescribed drug for the relief of asthma symptoms is salbutamol also known by the manufacturers name as ventolin, and most asthma sufferers are familiar with this medication.

Asthma drugs are generally taken by the use of an inhaler, so that the drug can take immediate effect at the site of the problem ie. the lungs. There are numerous devices to administer these drugs, and advice as to which is most suitable, should come from your medical expert monitoring your asthma.

You may wish to try this solution, because it really works!

Are there any non medical treatments for asthma?

There are no miracle cures for asthma, and you should walk away from anyone that suggest there are. However some non medical or complimentary therapies may be of benefit. One particular therapy that I personally found helpful for my 3 year old is outlined here. Others include hypnosis, acupuncture, and homeopathy to name a few. You could probably find a whole heap more by trying a search below, I've already entered the relevant phrase for you, just click search, and google will provide you with a range of alternative treatments to investigate.
