What are the symptoms of Anxiety?

People that suffer from anxiety often display the following properties:

  • They are always very alert
  • Breaking out in a sweat for no real reason
  • They feel helpless in the face of actual or imagined danger
  • Their moods alternate between hope and despair
  • They always seem tense
  • Mild exertion produces undue increase in heart rate
  • They sometimes suffer from stomach problems (ibs, cramps, butterflies)

The extent to which people have these and related symptoms will vary from individual to individual and within individuals to different situations. There are generally clear levels of anxiety produced by different situations.
